Composers new to opera are melding new musical language(s) into a “classical music” art form.  Does the rich new mixture of musical voices define a new American style of opera?  This “fishbowl” discussion will explore the dimensions of this new style and challenge attendees to consider whether the existing opera community is prepared to embrace it.
