At Opera Philadelphia, Sarah oversees the New Works from Commission to Production including such works as Charlie Parker’s Yardbird, Breaking the Waves, We Shall Not Be Moved, Elizabeth Cree, The Wake World, and many more. Opera News said Breaking the Waves "is among the best produced operas of the 21st Century”, was nominated for an International Opera Award and won "best new opera" from the Music Critics Association of North America. We Shall Not Be Moved was recently listed as one of the best classical musical performances of 2017 by the New York Times. Sarah also has the privilege of being responsible for Opera Philadelphia's Composer in Residence Program, the nation's first comprehensive operatic program for today's most promising composers.
